COEL Shortlisted for BCO Award
Defining excellence in office space
We are proud to have been shortlisted for a prestigious BCO Award.
The leading forum for issues affecting the office sector, the British Council for Offices (BCO), is a known and recognised source of information in the industry.
In addition to their work in the sector, the BCO holds an annual awards programme, providing public recognition for outstanding design and functionality, creating a benchmark for excellence in workplace design.
As a result, COEL is ecstatic to have been shortlisted and recognised for our flagship project with Mishcon de Reya in Cambridge.
Alistair Rumbelow, CEO, COEL said:
“We’re extremely proud to have been recognised for this office fit-out project at Mishcon de Reya. It’s one of the first buildings you see as you are welcomed into Cambridge from the train station, and for those enjoying the benefits of this beautiful regional office, it’s a wonderful hybrid workspace to suit the varied needs of this prestigious Law practice.
This is just one of many office design and fit-out projects we completed in 2023 and we thank the hard work and innovation offered by our design, fit-out, M&E and furniture teams who contributed to this extraordinary office transformation.”
The winners for each category will be announced at the Awards Lunch being held at the The ICC Birmingham on Friday 19th April 2024. COEL wishes the best of luck to everyone in the competition.

More about the project
Tasked with creating a neutral, sophisticated, high-end space with multiple focus points, we supported Mishcon de Reya with the full interior design, fit-out, M&E and furnishings. The project had three main focuses:
- Prioritising privacy and acoustics
- Enhancing staff wellbeing
- Offering diversified meeting spaces
Greta Miceviciute, the lead designer of this flagship project said:
“It was an honour to work on such a prestigious project that focuses so heavily on staff wellbeing and the human needs of the workforce. Professionally, it’s incredibly rewarding to be shortlisted for a BCO award as it’s a testament to all the hard work and the collaboration that went into creating Mishcon de Reya’s first Cambridge home. ”
