Our Projects
After securing a prestigious address opposite Cambridge Station, leading independent law firm, Mishcon de Reya, tasked us with creating two distinct areas for their workspace – a flexible local hub for their hybrid workforce and the ultimate client experience, with high-end finishes to evoke the feeling of entering an exclusive club.
Mishcon de Reya is a leading independent law firm with a presence in London, Oxford, Cambridge, Asia and the Middle East. Their experienced legal teams deal with highly sensitive information, so our scheme was designed with complete separation between the staff and client areas, to ensure the highest level of privacy.
For clients, the experience starts as you approach the building. Our design team purposely chose subtle branding on an engraved plaque, to give the sense that you are entering an exclusive club. On entering, clients are greeted in the grand reception area, and their coats are taken to the cloakroom before they are escorted up the bespoke staircase. The client area features a client lounge with a premium feel, which benefits from uninterrupted views of the bustling station below.
To meet the requirement for privacy, the meeting rooms were built with high quality acoustic panelling and ceiling installations. They also offer flexibility, one with a partition wall, which allows for larger team presentations when open, or two smaller meeting spaces when closed. As part of the services installation, we ensured that the audio visual and air handling systems can also be isolated in line with the use of the spaces.
For staff, there is a separate entrance to a fully flexible workspace, with 30 fixed desks and 22 hot-desking spaces. The communal area serves as a welcome breakout space for downtime, team collaboration or casual meetings. We also provided high-back booths and acoustic pods to provide additional meetings spaces and to encourage regular touchpoints with more remote colleagues.
The comfort and wellbeing of staff is extremely important to this client. They spent time outlining their hybrid working practices and current employee needs, as well as considering the future needs of their staff, by working with our team to plan a fully inclusive workplace.
The office features a multi-purpose wellness room for those times that their employees may need a moment of calm. The space has a wheelchair-accessible sink point and can also act as a mothers’ room as it includes a fridge for breast milk and a lock on the door for added privacy. The kitchen, which is also wheelchair-accessible, includes high-end amenities to enhance staff comfort at work, such as filtered water, hot water taps and a state-of-the-art coffee machine.
