Our Projects
Having recently launched its new global brand, TSA Riley was looking to update its Cambridge office to embody its new branding, whilst creating a smart, sustainable and comfortable workplace for their people to thrive. TSA Riley is in the business of helping its clients to drive greater value and impact from its built assets, and its new office was designed to embody these values.
Our design team worked closely with TSA Riley Cambridge team to accomplish their brief, which had flexibility at its heart. As a compact office with hybrid working and no permanent desks, it was essential to design an office layout (General Arrangement) with zoning that promoted choice. Whether the team prefers a quiet corner, an enclosed space for focused work, or a more social setting, they have the flexibility to choose the environment that best supports their productivity throughout the day. Not every task calls for collaboration, so their bespoke acoustic rooms offer space for the team to concentrate and recharge.
From LED lighting and new insulation, to a moss wall reception design, TSA Riley placed a strong focus on reducing operational carbon and improving energy performance. Redesigning a 90’s office required considered choices, to balance costs with efficiency. They prioritised reducing embodied carbon, drawing on the expertise of their own Carbon Advisory team to keep sustainability at the heart of the project.
TSA Riley embraced a design-led approach to wellbeing, creating a workspace that actively promotes movement rather than simply allowing for it. The office features motorised sit-stand desks and an open-plan layout that encourages walking and flexibility throughout the day. Ergonomic principles guided every decision—from desk design to lighting—to support spinal health and overall comfort. The result is a space that keeps both body and mind engaged and energised.
A mix of textures and materials brings a warm, homely feel to this refurbished office.Reclaimed wood features in the meeting room, while the café-style kitchen blends modern design with sustainability, highlighted by wooden panelling at the heart of the space. Throughout, there’s a clear emphasis on eco-conscious choices. A moss feature wall completes the look, offering a welcoming and visually striking entrance for clients and visitors alike.
TSA Riley took a resourceful and sustainable approach to its office fit out by reusing a substantial amount of existing furniture, sourced from other offices undergoing refurbishment across the country. Our furniture team supported the project by supplying key additions, including soft bench seating from sixteen3. This thoughtful blend of reused and new elements resulted in a cohesive, stylish workspace.
