COEL’s ESG Policy: Building a Better Future Through Design

At COEL, we believe that the spaces we create should not only serve the needs of today but also safeguard the future. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our updated Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Policy, which provides us with an actionable framework that reflects our commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance.

First, a message from Our CEO

“Our ESG policy reflects our dedication to creating a positive impact on the environment, our community, and our stakeholders. It helps us build trust with our clients, attract and retain top talent, and foster innovation and resilience in a rapidly changing world.”
Alistair Rumbelow, CEO

After 25 years of COEL and nearly 40 years in the fit out industry, we understand that our responsibilities extend far beyond the projects we deliver. Our ESG policy is not just a document, it’s a declaration of purpose, aligned with our five core values and embedded in our culture for change.

Our Approach: Three Pillars of Impact

As a commercial design and fit out company, we are uniquely positioned to influence ESG outcomes through our daily decisions. Our approach is built on three pillars:

  • Designing Responsibly: We help clients make sustainable choices and align our practices with globally recognised frameworks for the built environment.
  • Operating Sustainably: We reduce our environmental footprint, foster inclusivity, and uphold ethical standards across our operations.
  • Prioritising People: We champion wellbeing, safety, and community engagement, ensuring our work positively impacts those who use the spaces we design.

Our Promise

“To lead with purpose, act with responsibility, and create inspiring spaces that enhance working lives, and are planned with the future in mind.”

We are committed to:
Minimising environmental impact through sustainable materials and energy-efficient design.

  • Fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace.
  • Operating with integrity and transparency, guided by ISO standards for quality, environmental stewardship, and health & safety.
