Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure for data centers, telecom, and other environments, offer end-to-end power and cooling. With a plan to refresh their Bedford office to better serve their workforce and welcome partners and clients, we worked with them and their agent, Carter Jonas, to modernise their workspace so it properly represents the Vertiv™ brand.

A focus on client experience

For Vertiv, their Bedford office, a key centre for training and development, where employees continuously develop their skillset and clients are invited to benefit from their expertise in the tech industry. To further enhance the experience, an additional area on the ground floor was purpose built dedicated to customers, to demonstrate part of our product alongside a spacious board room. When not in use Vertiv’s staff can book these dedicated meeting spaces for private meetings, making the most of their multi-disciplinary space.

Embedding their values in design

For those that work at Vertiv, they find themselves in a friendly and kind community. Their values, that already bring their workforce together as ‘One Vertiv’, are reflected across the office design in manifestations in the kitchen (tea point) areas, where the teams come together for coffee and catch ups. These constant signals remind their teams and clients of their strategic priorities and the behaviours they expect to be able to reach their business goals.

Simplicity and ergonomic comfort

For Vertiv, wellbeing at work is paramount. Adjustable (stand up sit down) desks were essential for their employees to enable the teams to work in a way which they found comfortable. Office seating was varied, from office chairs, to booths and a high top table and bar stool seating in the kitchen, through to sofas in the smaller tea point downstairs. This offered plenty of choice for everyone to relax or focus as needed during the course of the working day. As a result of our work in Bedford, we we tasked to update the office design in their Sheffield office also.

Redefining the Office Experience

Inspired by the need to create a welcoming post-pandemic workspace, Vertiv set out to transform its Bedford office. Employee engagement and wellbeing had become a priority, driving the design towards comfort and collaboration. The refurbishment also aimed to reflect Vertiv’s brand values while future-proofing the space with modern, adaptable features. Despite a longer planning phase, the result is a stunning, revitalised office that employees are proud to return to.
