At COEL, we believe that business success goes hand in hand with community impact. Throughout 2025, we’ve proudly supported charitable causes, volunteered our time, hosted events to raise awareness and partnered with local organizations to make a meaningful difference. Here’s a look back at the highlights of our year.
The Phoenix Trust has been at the heart of our charitable efforts this year. This incredible organization provides work experience and training for adults and young people with learning disabilities, helping them build confidence and valuable skills.
Our team rallied behind Phoenix Trust through fundraising events, including our charity cricket day at Fenner’s, which raised thousands of pounds for Phoenix Trust, Tom’s Trust, Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital, LandAid. Beyond financial support, we have helped to introduce the charity to potential employment opportunities including catering for corporate events and supplying merchandise for organisations, developers and landowners. Our employees have also volunteered their time to assist with projects and activities, reinforcing our commitment to inclusion and empowerment.

Fundraising
Our charity cricket match with Carter Jonas raised £45,000 for The Phoenix Trust, Tom’s Trust, Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and LandAid.
In addition to this, through community partnerships, we are proud to share that we have raised over £52,000 this year.
01
For the past five years, we have been collecting tea and coffee collection as well as raising funds to buy tea and coffee for the Addenbrookes staff. We raised £1,000 this year.
02
We partnered with Give your Best this February to host an event where women in the property sector were encouraged to give their best underutilised clothes to Give your Best which delivers the clothes to women fleeing adversity. The event raised over £1,500 for the charity.
03
We held an International Women’s Day event featuring a panel debate and raised £650 for Cambridge Global Health Partnerships.
04
Our team respected Remembrance Day with a talk from a decorated member of the military and the entire team observed the silence at 11. As part of our proceedings we raised funds for the Royal British Legion.
Throughout the year, we also placed donations from our charitable fund to regional and national organisations:
National

At COEL, we place a strong emphasis on supporting our local community. These are the regional charities we have donated to in 2025:
futurein
apprenticeships
We have proudly supported FutureIn Apprenticeships, an initiative that provides construction apprenticeship opportunities for young people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. We provide both financial funding as well as kit bags and tools for these young apprentices.
Cambridge
science centre
We are delighted to have worked with Cambridge Science Park in delivering this exceptional educational space to the park. Having provided the design and fit out (some of the work was pro-bono) we have since hosted events which have raised funds for the centre and given them a platform to engage with an extended network.
We are part of the committee that forms the Built Environment Programme at Cambridge Science Centre – a programme to inform and educate young people about the construction sector.
Every COEL employee is encouraged to take a paid volunteering day annually, and this year we’ve put those hours to good use. From litter-picking drives to fund raising sports challenges, our team has shown that small actions create big impact.
We also continued our tradition of donating 7000 cups of tea and coffee to NHS staff annually, a gesture of appreciation for those who care for our community.

Recognizing the growing need for food security, we partnered with our local foodbank to provide essential supplies and donations. Our team contributed both financially and through volunteer hours, helping ensure families in our region have access to nutritious meals during challenging times.
repurposing
of furniture
We provide a fully sustainable recycling service which ensures nothing goes to landfill. Where possible, we primarily look to repurpose furniture to local charities and community initiatives.
