Our Projects

Wrenbridge

Wrenbridge, a property developer with over 30 years’ experience delivering projects across commercial and industrial real estate, set out to deliver a strategic office refurbishment and fit out of their Cambridgeshire based office. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and regional development, they wanted their new office to provide a fresh new look and feel, delivered by an experienced commercial interior design and build company, to better accommodate the wellbeing of their staff and clients.

Planned with purpose

Wrenbridge set out to refresh their Cambridge base with a warm, light‑filled workspace that better serves both their clients and staff. Working within the existing footprint, our workplace design team planned and designed the main office floor to introduce a new manager’s office, a quiet/breakout, “chill” area, a collaboration room, and client‑facing space, while enhancing the tea point for everyday use. Roller blinds replaced older aluminium venetians to soften daylight and reduce glare, and storage was rationalised to free up floor area and sightlines.

Smart value engineering

The office design intentionally embraced a pared-back aesthetic to maximise value, reflecting our practical approach to commercial office refurbishment. Thoughtful material selections ensure the environment feels fresh and inviting, with carpet zoning introducing softer, warmer tones—darker in meeting and collaboration areas, lighter in the open plan spaces. Instead of a full ceiling strip-out, targeted tile replacements addressed legacy damage, delivering a revitalised look, without unnecessary expense or environmental impact. The tea point offered a splash of reed‑green, providing a distinctive focal point that feels both on trend and professional, yet priced competitively.

Personal priorities

Wrenbridge prioritises people, ensuring the workspace reflects the needs and preferences of their team. This workspace has a dog‑friendly design, with a dedicated dog bed planned for the team’s office companion. When their much-loved coffee machine didn’t initially fit the kitchen, our responsive site team quickly adapted the design in line with our office furniture, retaining essential storage while making sure everyone could enjoy their coffee in their refreshed space.

A Vision Rooted in Values

We drew inspiration from Wrenbridge’s values of experience, collaboration, and regional impact to shape its new office space into a hub of wellbeing and innovation. Guided by Wrenbridge’s commitment to creating sustainable, people-focused environments. As part of our integrated commercial interior design and build services, COEL designed a workspace that prioritises employee wellbeing through natural light, biophilic elements, and flexible zones for both focused work and social interaction. The emphasis on collaboration is reflected in open-plan layouts and multifunctional meeting areas that encourage spontaneous teamwork and creativity. By aligning with Wrenbridge’s value of experience, COEL ensured the space reflects thoughtful design rooted in decades of industry insight, creating an environment where people feel empowered, connected, and inspired.
